Thu Oct 7 - Simplified/Met; Kevin Gordon/Thirsty Beaver; Simplified/Whisky River
Started off the evening Uptown catching Clee & Sheridan from Simplified at the New MetLive Music on the Greenway outdoor concert series. What a beautiful night and enchanting view. We ran into our good friend Mark Federal, and he introduced us to Brian who offered us 3 free VIP passes. Nice! We drank a few, said goodbye to Simplified at 9 and ran over to The Thirsty Beaver to catch our touring friend Kevin Gordon. Not only did he sound great and played to a very appreciative crowd, we had a chance to talk for quite a while this time, mostly about raising kids. I tried to pry him away from staying with the Grahams but that wasn't happening lol.
From there the 3 of us (me, Don & Mark) drove in the convertible with the top down (!) back to see Simplified at the Parmalee benefit they played at Whisky River. The new songs are fantastic! I can't wait to hear them again. It was an extremely nice night for everyone. Good times, with good friends and good music...again!
Mark had a $25 gift card for Libretto's at EpiCentre and we stopped in to wolf down a slice of pizza each. I swear it was one of the best slices I've ever had..maybe the best in Charlotte. I'll have to go back again. Awesome!
