Dead Confederate and Deer Tick were just what the Doctor ordered tonight. Both bands put on a great rock show. Last time we saw Deer Tick, they were opening for Neko Case at the Knight Theater. Not exactly their type of venue. This time, they were more in their element. And Dead Confederate rocked just as hard. I loved them too! I'd been wanting to see them for a couple of years now and now I can't wait to see them again. These type of bands need to play this type of venue..at least for now :-). Great night and thanks to the Visulite & MaxxMusic for bringing another great show to Charlotte.
We left a little bit early so we could make it home in time for Dana's 21st birthday champagne toast at midnight. Her girlfriend brought a bottle, but then had to get back home. Very sweet, but..what to do now? Well..let's take her to actually order her first legal drink. We ended up at Duckworth's new place, since it was close to home and still serving food too :-) On this Sunday night, it was pretty quiet. Dana ordered her rum & coke, and we met some regulars/employees who were hanging out after their shift. When they found out it was her 21st birthday, THEY bought her a couple of shots too! They were a lot of fun and made us all laugh.
Hard to believe this day has arrived, but...I'm glad she spent it, and will be spending tomorrow, with us too.
