I'm not THAT familiar with Mark & Mike's work even though they've played the Muse quite a few times (separately and together), but tonight I got "it" and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful songs, the gorgeous vocals, the amazing harmonies and the complete package these two bring to the stage. Wow.
Angie..well, what can I say? We've been seeing Angie Aparo since Chris was a teen, when he turned us on to him. Don and I even got to see him once or twice before Chris did since he usually played 18+ or 21+ clubs. So yeah, it's been about 8-10 years that we've been following Angie, and still love him and his shows just the same. This is one act that way should have been a mega-star already. He has some of the most loyal followers, and his song (my all-time favorite by him) "Cry" was picked up by Faith Hill as not only a single, but the title track from her album entitled "Cry." SO much fun and humor and devilishness in his live shows. We rarely, rarely miss any performance of his anywhere in the area. Even now, writing this blog weeks after the show, it cracks me up to remember it all. One tasty and filling evening every single time. ESPECIALLY when the crowd is with him, and this was one of the best I've ever seen. The Visulite was pretty full, but no chattering at the bar at all! You could hear a pin drop in that room (which, if you've ever been there, is EXTREMELY rare) during those beautiful ballads. And then the room would be singing along, either on their own, or the guys vs. the girls when coached by Angie. Superb A++ Magnanimous show! There are very few shows where the whole family can fully agree on and share our respect and enthusiasm for the artists, and only two come to mind .. Tom Petty and Angie Aparo. We ALL have to attend these shows. And that's not such a bad thing.
(ps - UP in 3D was good, not great. Not one of my favorite Pixar films. Entertaining yes, but for this film, I don't know that I would pay the extra $$ for the 3-D. The trailors in 3-D were amazing though!)
