I was SO exhausted after the last 2 weeks of running and ahem.."Gun"-ning ;-)) that I really didn't think I'd make it out at all tonight. I missed seeing Malcolm Holcombe, but did get caught up on some much needed rest and sleep.
Luckily I got myself up and going to see Matrimony's final Charlotte performance (for a while) though. This band is pretty new to the scene, and unfortunately for me, I only have seen them one time for a short set at the Crowntown Showdown, and was instantly head over heels. I had to see them one more/last time before newlyweds Jimmy & Ashley move to London. Oh and I'm SO glad I did. I was floored when I arrived to see the Muse was packed with many of their friends and fans giving them a proper sendoff. Even now when I think of this show, I get goosebumps. They truly are one of the best bands to come from this area, and I have no doubt they'd be on the top of many lists ... locally AND internationally within no time.
AND..what a great surprise in hearing and also becoming a big fan of Ms. Allison Weiss. Truly a delightful performer, and wonderful singer-songwriter (think Ingrid Michaelson). She had a pretty good fanbase of her own there, and I can see why. I will be back to see her again!
