Surprisingly, an amateur videoographer showed up with his cameras and filmed the whole set. Where, of if, any of the video will be available to the public is yet to be seen. I hope it works out where at least 1, 2 or 3 could be shared. It was another couple hours of some of the best songwriting and sometimes intense, creative lyrics I've heard.
After the show we headed back to Huntersville to celebrate one of my oldest friends and former co-worker, Hope, and her husband Tony's 50th birthdays. It's been so long since Hope and I have seen each other, neither one of us could even remember the last time. It didn't matter, we picked up right where we left off. Hope was always one of my best friends here. She and I worked for the same company for about 15 years, oftentimes swapping bosses in the process, as they would move from project to project. She eventually talked me into applying for the MAD job, and it was the best move I ever made. Working with that group, in the MAD shop, afforded me the opportunity to work very closely in a very artistic, and colorful, environment. I had the best employer/boss one could hope to have, I worked with the most entertaining, creative, unique group of artists, marketing executives, world travelers, seamstresses, painters, graphic designers..each one of them very special in their own way. We had so much fun, not only would we work together sometimes 24/7, we'd want to hang out together afterwards as well! We were one big family, with all the ups and downs that go with it, and I couldn't feel more blessed everytime I think about them all.
Back to the party - it was a mini-reunion with Ashley & Edward, David & Theresa and Kym & Bonni there too! Too much fun, as always. And it didn't stop there. We were invited back to Hope & Tony's place, and...words escape me. Let's just say that by the end of the evening, we had had our fill of wine, and were enjoying Boz Scaggs Live, then Genesis Live, on the wall-sized video screen, in super stereo-ed surround sound, being surrounded by good people with super-sized, generous hearts. Truly grateful we're all still friends, and always will be. And a shout out and big hug to the employer who brought us all together and headed this family - Paul Lawrence.
