Welcome back home Johnny D!!!! He may not have a whole lot of new songs out there yet, but it sure was a treat to hear those outstanding, strong, distinct vocals in my ears again.
Two of the best in one place, in one night. Lovely.
Over to Yarn whom we invited to be our overnight guests this evening. Wow. The last time I saw a full show by them, they were the impressive, opening band for Girls, Guns & Glory at the Double Door. We've been catching them here and there, usually late into the set, since then, and I've really liked their Americana/Country style more and more each time. BUT..wow...we walked into the Double Door and I thought surely I've missed more shows than I thought because the place was packed with everyone on their feet, rocking out and dancing like crazy! Seriously?! This was so exciting to see...it's like it happened suddenly overnight! We were thrilled for them, and they were on a super-high cloud as well. They're not even sure how it took hold like that, but I don't think there's any turning back now. They've captured the hearts and feet of Charlotte.
And, as is typically the case, they were delightful houseguests. I wish we could've had more time together to share more stories and get to know them better..but..there just may be a next time :-).
